Emerald Heart Cannabis Café & Dispensary is a retail store and dispensary in Murfreesboro, TN, offering a wide variety of CBD and hemp-derived products. Emerald Heart was founded in 2023 as a team effort between cannabis farmers and passionate cannabis enthusiasts who are dedicated to educating the community about the benefits of cannabis and its many uses, as well as supplying the local community with the best cannabis products available. Our vision is to grow organically, in a business sense as well as a cultivation sense, and strengthen our community’s resilience through knowledge and compassion.
Our Story
Christina Barnes and Matt Minks met while attending MTSU, where the two quickly bonded over their shared passion for cannabis. After graduating from MTSU in 2014, the couple relocated to the Emerald Triangle in Northern California, where they learned from and worked alongside legacy cannabis farmers and extractors for several years.
In 2018, Christina and Matt moved back to their hometown of Murfreesboro, TN. They pursued their goal of destigmatizing cannabis by sharing their experience growing hemp on the family farm. Inspired by what they learned about organic cannabis cultivation in California, the Minkses applied these cultivation techniques to high-CBD hemp varieties and created their own brand of products—Rhize Premium Hemp.
In 2020 the Minkses and their Rhize brand partnered with Frog Brigade Farmacy, a storefront they successfully operated from 2020-2023, winning multiple community awards and earning a reputation for quality and customer service. In early 2023, the Minkses brought Rhize with them to Murfreesboro’s Historic Jackson Heights Plaza to open Emerald Heart Cannabis Café & Dispensary.
